Dr. Anthony “Tony” Price is a retired educator with more than 35 years of experience in public and private K–12 education. From his early days teaching in the vibrant, fast-paced classrooms of New York City to leading schools across Virginia and Georgia, Dr. Price’s journey has been marked by resilience, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to underserved students.
His leadership was felt at every level — from starting the first alternative program in Falls Church, Virginia, to driving academic transformation in Atlanta’s Therrell High School, to leading Hilsman Middle off the Needs Improvement list and earning state recognition. As principal of Cedar Shoals High School, he championed access to rigorous academics and launched programs like the Ninth Grade Academy and the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program — all in service of creating opportunity and equity.
Dr. Price’s impact goes beyond test scores and titles. He believes in the power of public education as a great equalizer — a “game changer,” as he calls it — and has spent his life walking the walk, both in urban and rural school communities. His passion has never wavered.
Now retired from school-based roles, Dr. Price continues to teach and inspire. As an adjunct professor at Nova Southeastern University and Georgia Military College, he brings history to life and prepares future leaders with hard-earned wisdom and heartfelt stories.
When he’s not in the classroom, you can find him watching college football, reading up on American history, or connecting with fellow educators across the country. He lives in Georgia with his wife, Dr. Noris Price, a former State Superintendent of the Year, and together, they remain active champions for children, education, and leadership with integrity.
